This is what 'no costs guaranteed' means

At Bynco, we guarantee that you won't have any unexpected costs on your car for the first 12.000 kilometers or first year after purchase. But what exactly does that mean? We explain that here, including a practical example.

You just spent a lot of money on a new car only to have to spend a lot more within just a few months because it needs maintenance or repairs. Despite having bought a pre-owned car with a warranty or having spent extra money on a warranty. If you buy a used car from us, that won't happen to you. We guarantee that for the first 12.000 kilometers or first year* after purchase you will have no unexpected costs on your new car. If that is the case, we will solve it. This is one of the reasons why buying a used car from us is risk-free.

Practical example

You purchase a beautiful stationwagon with a 12 month warranty from your local dealership. However, after 2 months and 5.000 kilometers of use, the battery dies, so you call the used car company where you bought the car to have it replaced free of charge. After all, you have a 12 month warranty on the car, so it won't cost you anything. Sadly, it turns out the exact opposite is the case: the terms and conditions state that the warranty covers the engine and the gearbox, but not the battery. Replacing it will therefore cost you money, despite the warranty.

Had you purchased the same stationwagon from Bynco, you would also have had a 12 month warranty, plus we would have told you that the BOVAG warranty does not apply to the battery. However, because we promise you no expenses and no worries in the first 12.000 kilometres or first year*, we would have solved and paid it.

Exceptions

We must be honest, there are situations in which we do not cover the costs:

  • If you've driven more than 12.000 kilometres or if the delivery date of the car is more than a year ago*;
  • If the defect or the maintenance requirement is caused by your actions, e.g. by overloading or incorrect operation of the car, reckless driving and negligence;
  • If it is covered by your car insurance, the BOVAG warranty, or the manufacturer's warranty;
  • In the event of external circumstances, i.e. when a defect is caused by water, hail or storm damage, a bad road surface or another road user;
  • If no permission has been given for the repair, maintenance or modification (tuning, lowering, etc.) of the car.

*Whichever is reached first.

Frequently asked questions

Who determines where I can have my car repaired or serviced?

This is a joint decision, made in consultation with you. In most cases, you can choose from a number of garages that are no more than a 30-minute drive from your home, or, depending on the situation, we can recommend a reputable garage or a number of garages. Plus, if you want, we'll make the appointment for you.

Will I have another car at my disposal if my car is at the garage?

Yes, if the repair or maintenance work takes more than 8 hours (excluding waiting and diagnosis time), you are entitled to replacement transport for a maximum of 2 days. The maximum reimbursement for replacement transport is €35 (excluding VAT) per day.

What if my car has a defect after 12.000 kilometres?

After 12.000 kilometers you are responsible for all repair costs, unless your car is still under BOVAG warranty. In that case - and the defect falls under the warranty - the repair costs are (partially) covered. Maintenance costs are not covered by the BOVAG warranty.
